The Argument.... Jesus and Satan have an argument as to who is the better computer programmer. This goes on for a few hours until they come to an agreement to hold a contest, with God to be the judge. They set themselves before their computers and begin. They type furiously, lines of code streaming up the screen for several hours straight. Seconds before the end of the competition, a bolt of lightning strikes, taking out the electricity. Moments later, the power is restored, and God announces that the contest is over. He asks Satan to show what he has come up with. Satan is visibly upset and cries, "I have nothing. I lost it all when the power went out." "Very well, then," says God, "let us see if Jesus fared any better..." Jesus enters a command and the screen comes to life with a vivid display, and voices of an angelic choir pour forth from the speakers... Satan is astonished. He stutters, "B-b-but how? I lost everything, yet Jesus' program is intact! How did he do it?" God chuckles, "Everybody knows...Jesus saves!" SHALOM AND GOD BLESS Charles & Theresa
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.
Rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.
1 Peter 4:13
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
The kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
You, O Lord, have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.
Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
There is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.
I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness.
Shout for joy, O heavens; rejoice, O earth; burst into song, O mountains! For the Lord comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.
The joy of the Lord is your strength.
The ransomed of the Lord will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.
My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you, O Lord -- I, whom you have redeemed.
In God our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.
Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.
The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart.
